EcoVision to Feature in Demand Management Trial at South Australian Green Village

Following a competitive tender process, the South Australian Government's Land Management Corporation (LMC) has awarded a contract to Pacific Environment Ltd to supply EcoVision energy and water management and control systems to its 106-allotment Lochiel Park development in Adelaide.

The development features many leading-edge sustainability initiatives, and the inclusion of EcoVision will enable the performance of the village as a whole to be monitored, setting new benchmarks for sustainable urban design. LMC will use EcoVision in a trial of 'load management' technology which will assist Lochiel Park residents to better understand the way they consume electricity. The system will provide residents with the opportunity to reduce their load in times of peak electricity demand in exchange for reductions in their electricity bills.

Chief Executive Wayne Gibbings said “We are excited to have EcoVision on board with this project because of its unique capabilities. The system will provide detailed, real time feedback, allowing for two-way communication between the device and the user. In 10 of the homes, we will be monitoring up to 15 individual electrical loads, providing valuable information about domestic usage patterns. This is clearly leading-edge technology.”
